This year, Malaysia builds another skyscraper

News24xx.com -  Malaysia is building a new icon, the third highest skyscraper in the world. However, it is still in progress.

The building is called Merdeka PNB 118. It has been constructed by Berhad National Capital (PNB) since 2016. Merdeka PNB 118 will have 118 floors with height 644 meters.

The chairman of PNB, Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar said to this day, the construction has reached the eighth floor. He hoped that one floor could be finished every week.

“All of the sub-structural works had been done and we have started working on the main structure. At the end of this year, we will be able to see the whole structure of the building clearly,” he said on Wednesday, February 28 2018.

Wahid added that the construction was targeted to reach 40 % at the end of 2018.

The construction of the 118-stored skyscraper spends around 5 billion Ringgit or 17 trillion Rupiah. Targeted to be operated in 2020, Merdeka PNB 118 will become Malaysia’s highest building and the third highest in the world behind Burj Khalifa and Shanghai Tower. This building will be used as office area, hotel and shopping center.
