News24xx.com - A teenager in Andhra Pradesh spends more than half a million rupees in a matter of hours to pay for the purchase of the Free Fire online game.

According to police, a 13-year-old boy from the city of Amalapuram in the East Godavari district, the son of a man who works in Kuwait, is addicted to playing online games and spends a lot of money from his mother's two bank accounts.

The boy's mother, Razia Sultana, was surprised to learn that a number of Rs556,000 (Dh27,168) had been debited from her two accounts on Saturday when she tried to withdraw some money from an automatic teller machine (ATM). He immediately filed a complaint with the local police. During the investigation, the police discovered that the amount was spent by his own son.

This online game involves purchasing "weapons" to advance and score more points. The boy downloaded the online game from his cellphone. He paid from his mother's account and ended up spending almost all of his bank balance.

"The whole story came out when we verified the boy's cellphone," said police sub-inspector Yesu Babu. Because the boy was underage, the police did not reveal his identity.

"The boy spent his money for 20 days since he was addicted," said police inspector Suresh Babu.

The police officer observed that the boy had all the information needed to access the bank account and his mother failed to pay attention to his activities for a long time. Police are also investigating how the boy gets access to online games that are only intended for those aged over 18 years.

Losing money was a big surprise for the family because the boy's father had saved up some money to return to India and start a business.

"I don't know how we will recover from this monetary shock and loss. My husband was also very surprised by the incident, "said Razia Sultana.
