Citing AP, Monday (13 July 2020) the dog is Roux, a Belgian Malinois dog aged 3 years. He woke up his owner, Jeff LecCates, with "frantic and unusual barking" on Saturday night (4/7), the Franklin Fire Department said at a news conference.

When LeCates woke up and opened the door to find out what had happened. Roux immediately barged out of the house. LeCates followed the dog's direction by looking out and watching the house of the next-door neighbor burn.

LeCates moved quickly by banging on and opening the door of the neighbor's house. His efforts succeeded in waking his neighbor consisting of three people and their pets.

Then, together they helped put out the fire with a water hose from the garden until the firefighters arrived. The action bore fruit, no one was injured in the fire.
