The Regent Disprove Indragiri Hilir Rejects the Recess of the Riau Regional House of Representatives

News24xx.com - The Regent of Indragiri Hilir Regency, HM Wardan dismissed the statement stating that the Indragiri Hilir Regency refused to recess members of the Riau Province Regional Representative Council. In fact, the Regent admitted, until now, the Government of Indragiri Hilir Regency has not received an official letter of recess from the Riau Province Regional Representative Council.

"As of today, there has not been an official letter from the Riau Province Regional Representative Council coming in for the recess. There is only information from a member of the Riau Regional Representative Council through Whatsapp about the recess plan in Indragiri Hilir," said the Regent when contacted by cellphone  on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

Information related to the existence of the recess of the Riau Province Regional Representative Council Members who received the Regent also received an answer. The Regent responded by providing an explanation to continue implementing health protociles in the implementation of recess.

"Message via Whatsapp, I answer with an explanation could have carried out the recess, but still apply health protocols, such as using masks, keep a distance and so on. Moreover, Indragiri Hilir Regency is currently in a red zone and has local transmission," said the Regent explaining that he never issue a rejection sentence.

Furthermore, the Regent revealed that he, as the Head of the Region and the Government of Indragiri Hilir Regency, was actually very happy with the implementation of the recess because it could help realize the development.

"The important thing was, apply the health protocol. So, I reiterate that it is not true that Indragiri Hilir Regency refused the recess of the member of the Riau Province Regional Representative Council," concluded the Regent.

Previously, a statement about the rejection of the recess of the members of the Riau Province Regional Representative Council, came from the Chairman of the Riau Provincial Representative Council itself, Indra Gunawan Eet.

Eet, as he is usually called, said that the recess activities of members of the Riau Regional House of Representatives which would be carried out in the near future were somewhat constrained in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. There are several areas in Riau that do not allow recess activities of board members in the middle of the new normal era. He said the area was Indragiri Hilir Regency and Dumai City.
