Starting from 2020, Formula 1 will be held in Netherlands after 35 years of absences

News24xx.com - Formula 1 will be held again in the Netherlands starting in 2020. After 35 years of absence, the Dutch GP will be held at Zandvoort, a beach-resort area. Through its official website, F1 announces the return of the Dutch GP starting next season. From the agreement between F1 and the Dutch GP, at least there will be three seasons held there.

Heineken is certain to be the main sponsor for this series. So, the official name of this race is the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix 2020. Zandvoort itself is the main beach resort area in the Netherlands. The location is not far from Amsterdam, only about 37 km or an hour's drive by car. The circuit itself is located not far from the beach.

The Zandvoort circuit has a long history in F1 because it was used from 1952 to 1985. Then next year's race became the 31st title on the track. F1 ensures that in the next few months number of facilities on the circuit will be renovated to meet FIA standards. Tracks and infrastructure will also not be spared from renovations.

"We are pleased to announce that Formula 1 will be held in the Netherlands, on the Zandvoort circuit. Since the beginning of our era in Formula 1, we say we want to hold races in new places, but also to respect the history of this sport in Europe" said F1 CEO, Chase Carey.
