Recycle Trash; This Group of Women Go to Foreign Counties

Wasted can, plastic, and pipe which are usually just thrown away. In  another hand, that kinda trash can be processed by women of waste processing groups from Banyunganti Kidul Hamlet, Kaliagung Village, Sentolo District, Kulonprogo Regency, Yogyakarta, to become high-value handicraft products. In fact, even this product is able to get into to foreign countries.

Isna, a resident of Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta, with the training she participated in, together with members of the waste management group, was able to turn it into economic value items.

Isna, who as the head of KPSM Bunda Mandiri, turned can trash into a very attractive home decoration. The rubbish that was recycled by her group, is of inorganic type, can-and-plastic.

"The process of made this can craft is not difficult, it only needs patience and accuracy, to make the pieces of the tin not injure the hands," she said.

This craft also varies in shape; from flowers, miniature animals, and motor vehicles.

"The price of a can craft ranges from IDR 35k to IDR 700k, depending on the shape, size and level of difficulty," she said.

According to her, by making this craft, at least household women can get additional income by utilizing this waste.

Unfortunately, Isna admit, although this handicraft  business have a promising prospect, it is still constrained by makeshift equipment.
