The Ministry of Finance explained the amendments on the transfer of confiscated money to the FIU

News24xx.com - Amendments to the law on the transfer of illegally received money to the Pension Fund are needed to synchronize with the norms of the Civil Code, the Ministry of Finance told RIA Novosti.

In particular, they want to clarify in the Budget Code that not only property but also money can be confiscated in favor of the FIU, if it was not possible to prove the legality of their receipt.

"In fact, this is a technical revision," the ministry said.

The project has already been submitted to the government, and the new regulations may come into force by the end of the year.

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance proposed to seize the currency illegally withdrawn from Russia. The explanatory note said that confiscation was now foreseen for the smuggling of money, alcohol, and explosives across the border.

After the adoption of the amendments, it will be possible to withdraw money in cases of non-return of foreign exchange earnings and transfers to non-residents, in which forged documents are used.
