FOSWAR Holds Journalistic Training for Youth Leaders in Rohul

ROHUL- Journalist Solidarity Forum (Foswar) in Rokan hulu (Rohul) conducted journalistic training for youth leaders in 16 sub-districts. In addition, Foswar also socialized Law No. 40 of 1999 concerning the press and the event took place at Sapadia Hotel, Pematang Berangan Village, Rambah District, Rokan Hulu Regency, Thursday (12/19/2019).

The training was opened directly by the Regent of Rohul, H. Sukiman who was represented by Assistant II Rohul, Ir. Ruslan.

In his speech, Ir. Ruslan said, this training is very good, because it increased the youth's insight in writing news, but according to the facts, don't write anything that don't match the facts.

"This Foswar activity is very good for adding insight," explained Ruslan.

Meanwhile, Chairman Foswar Yusrizal explained, the establishment of the 2015 Fosul Rohul which was originally to defend the fate of fellow journalists who were often neglected because at that time fellow journalists were prohibited from covering the trial at the state court.

"The purpose of establishing FOSWAR is to protect fellow journalists", explained Yusrizal.

Yusrizal said, in addition to protecting journalists, the Foswar organization created a number of journalistic training programs invited by school children, the community and youth leaders who budgeted themselves from the Rohul regency grants.

"Training of youth leaders from 16 sub-districts in serohul, so that local youth are reliable in journalism that can be used in this global era, and can also filter out hoax news," Yusrizal said.

Then the head of the event committee, Sarif Alamsyah, said that 32 journalists from 16 sub-districts of the Rokan Hulu Regency attended senior journalists in the field of journalism, Dr. Miswan Pasai MH and Drs Wahyudi el Panggabean.

"In this case, young people are required to understand journalism. Because now the era of digital information openness, all information has been circulating in the mass media on social media and is not well maintained, and our hope when this integration takes place, we can gain knowledge that young people can learn how to understand journalism.
